The mission of Meta’s People Service Delivery (PSD) Team is to run the best people focused service delivery business in the industry. As part of the Meta’s People Operations Organization, the PSD Team strives to create people experiences and programs at scale across the entire employee workforce lifecycle. This Payroll Specialist will need to be both an effective communicator and operate as a trusted business partner. You will be a key contributor for scaling People Payroll support ensuring all the stakeholders are involved and aligned throughout the process. This role supports the operational vision and requirements of programs to ensure solutions are scalable and aligned to long term strategy. You will work closely with Global Payroll Leads/SMEs, leaders across People Operations, and other key cross functional stakeholders to ensure smooth daily operations and support unexpected requirements. The People Specialist, Payroll challenges assumptions and the status quo to ensure data quality and timeliness of Payroll inputs and adjacent processes, implement scalable solutions, reduce barriers, and mitigate risks. This person does not need to have the “correct” answer to everything but, rather, should quickly drive the conversation toward a productive, programmatic solution by including the right people, process, and technology.
Responsibilities
Manage scaled Operations processes and build durable strategic partnerships across suppliers and cross-functional teams such as People Operations, Payroll input preparation and collaboration with payroll finance teams, Time Keeping and Scheduling Operations Manage complex projects and drive execution of work, primarily related to Payroll, TimeKeeping and Scheduling Own data hygiene for in-region payroll inputs, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness for regular payroll-related activities Ensure QA for vendor-managed processes is met and delivered without recurring issues Provide timely and accurate updates to Leads and stakeholders, meeting agreed upon deadlines with a sense of urgency Continuously raise the bar on benchmarks for customer satisfaction and operational efficiency through creation of metrics driven, high performance supplier engagements that are aligned with organizational goals Under the guidance of Global Payroll Leads, navigate complex global requirements and regulatory constraints to support programs that consistently deliver on challenging business objectives in a fast moving environment with the operational rigor required to meet Meta’s high quality standards Partner with leaders across the People Ops, Benefits and Compensation, Finance, Legal, and Tax team to uplift organizational performance ensuring the entire global team executes seamlessly to deliver business outcomes that are consistent, repeatable and measurable Build effective relationships between vendor teams and internal stakeholders ensuring systems, workflows, and playbooks are documented, improved and maintained Partner with HR Tech, engineering and other teams to drive automated solutions through continuous process improvement. Leveraging an understanding of system integration across multiple platforms and suppliers to ensure alignment and consistently manages to support streamlined payroll processing Create strategies to support the business achieving its goals including location strategy, privacy and security, contingency planning and audit readiness Propose and influence end-to-end process improvement, scalability and automation to support company growth Drive change management efforts needed to affect operational uplift including adoption of new systems, programs and process changes Analyze and report metrics on people systems activities in support of strategic decision-making initiatives and for ongoing measurement and continual improvement
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in a People Operations or Business Operations role within a fast-paced environment supporting operations in multiple countries, proposing solutions using data-driven insights, and implementing improvements at scale Bachelor's degree in a technical, business, or operations discipline or equivalent experience Awareness of HR best practices as well as legislative and regulatory constraints with experience executing programs to meet these requirements Experience in ensuring service level agreements and Key Performance Indicators are met while also ensuring data quality across a range of systems Experience driving decisions in ambiguity under time pressure in complex high-profile situations, and analyzing and interpreting the decisions made with data and reasoning Experience operating under your own initiative across multiple teams, system mindset with experience executing in large scale, critical environments Demonstrated critical thinking and thought leadership with a proven track record of thinking strategically and executing tactically Experience problem solving skills and reasoning, to ensure we develop highly efficient and operational workflows and engagement models Experience effectively build relationships, collaborate with, and motivate cross-functional (XFN) teams across all levels both in-person and remotely Highly effective communication skills, including the experience defining and simplifying complex concepts and communicating them back to stakeholders Experience operating through ambiguity, being detail-oriented, and delivering timely results in a highly organized and structured manner Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal audit frameworks related to payroll Experience in Payroll Operations and/or operations (shared services) in a complex environment Knowledge and understanding of the tech / software industry business models and core processes Experience in North America and Latin America HR Operations or Payroll Operations Experience leveraging LEAN tools and methodologies Experience preparing presentations and materials for audiences at various levels Experience in requirement analysis techniques/methodologies and delivering business value through process improvement in high-tech operations space Experience in any time tracking system and experience in designing time tracking solutions Experience being adaptable when faced with conflicting priorities, multi-tasking to get things done in an ambiguous environment Demonstrated experience in providing oversight and uplifting operational performance of supplier teams in a results- oriented and complex environment within ambiguity and shifting priorities Experience in any multi-region Payroll systems and supplier partnership (SAP, Workday, ADP)
Compensation: $113,000/year to $170,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
