We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

Job Description:

PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Software Engineer in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Lead PayPal internal software engineering teams to migrate and expand workloads into Public Cloud in a seamless and efficient manner. Provide customer experience to hundreds of internal PayPal engineering teams, as they navigate the complex Public Cloud environments and look for success using new Public Cloud technologies. Building automation that integrates with public cloud platforms and tooling. Deploy infrastructure builds and Cl/CD pipelines. Support Kubernetes platforms like Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)/Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) for PayPal customers. Triage any issues in Public Cloud environment and analyze the root cause, mitigate and fix it. Drive software solutions end to end, from design, implementation, and testing to release phase. Perform and apply high quality software analysis, design, development, testing and maintenance for the PayPal core technology platform. Influence some of the key decisions on Public Cloud Engineering efforts, adoptions, best practices, and efficiency programs within PayPal as the company continues expansion into Public Cloud.  Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus two (2) years of experience in the job offered, Computer Science, or a related occupation. 

Special Skill Requirements:

1.              AWS Cloud Computing : AWS Cloud fundamentals and support for internal cloud integrations and migrations (2 years)

2.              Public Cloud Engineering Fundamentals: Foundation on how public cloud works and be able to apply it to other public cloud vendors like GCP (2 years)

3.              Software Development: Write code in a language Java or GoLang and support our automation frameworks (2 years)

4.              DevOps: Support infrastructure systems (2 years)

The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:

Primary Location | Pay Range:

San Jose, California | Salary: $158,735.00-243,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
