About the Team & Role

Global Consumer Insights (GCI) is part of eBay’s Growth Organization. Our role is to ignite growth by bringing the voice of the consumer to the forefront of eBay’s thinking and decision-making.

As Director, Insights Strategy & Transformation, you will report to the VP of Global Consumer Insights. You will serve as a strategic partner to the leadership team, defining the vision and ensuring the efficient execution of the organization's roadmap. This is a high-impact role that combines strategic planning, operational excellence, and the leadership of insights and AI transformation to enhance our impact as research partners.

You will work with key partners across HR, Finance, Legal, Privacy, and IT to design strategies, optimize workforce capabilities, and drive structured, data-based recommendations into action.

What You Will Accomplish

  • Define and evolve a 3–5 year mission, vision, and strategy for Global Consumer Insights that aligns with eBay’s highest-priority business initiatives

  • Plan and deliver the annual operational roadmap, ensuring insights, AI, and foresight capabilities are integrated and adopted across workstreams

  • Partner with senior leaders to translate strategy and foresight into clear priorities, measurable outcomes, and actionable recommendations

  • Lead workforce planning and resource optimization to improve team effectiveness, productivity, and impact

  • Drive change management across GCI by evolving or retiring processes as new tools and technologies are introduced

  • Communicate the value of insights through clear, data-backed storytelling for executive leadership and the Board of Directors

  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning through team forums, training, and collaborative initiatives

What You Will Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in consulting, strategy, or program management, with demonstrated success leading transformation and executing operating plans

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or MS in a technical field preferred

  • Strong interest in AI, technology, and process improvement, with comfort navigating ambiguity and change

  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to influence and partner with senior leaders

  • Proven ability to manage complex initiatives with structure, rigor, and strong project management discipline

  • A collaborative, hands-on leadership style with a high level of ownership and accountability

The applicable base pay range for this position is dependent on work location. The base pay range in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City Metro and Seattle Metro is expected in the range below:

$195,200 - $260,600

The base pay range for all other U.S. work locations is expected in the range below: 

$152,000 - $227,500

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
