About the Role:

CrowdStrike’s Malware Research Center (MRC) is at the core of Falcon’s malware detection and response capabilities. There are many parts of CrowdStrike working towards protecting customer environments and MRC works across all of them to ensure we are on target and providing the best protection for the current threat landscape. Help us stop breaches with your expertise.

The Red Team Intern will work on MRC’s Adversarial Emulation team, dedicated to simulating threat actor activities, researching new techniques, and evaluating and improving CrowdStrike’s products. We are a team of offensive security experts that constantly raise the bar to ensure CrowdStrike is ahead of adversaries. You will assist in planning and executing assessments to measure and improve product effectiveness. You will work with a global team and support experienced team members.

Location & Work Arrangement:

  • FULLY REMOTE: This role is fully remote and requires no travel. Your work location is the city/town you will be working from remotely. For our 12-week internship program, interns are allowed to work remotely from an alternative location for up to 2 weeks. Interns are also invited to work out of the CrowdStrike office located closest to their remote location.

  • While this internship will be remote, we are looking for candidates based in Eastern Standard Time.

Time Commitment: Interns are expected to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during standard business hours.

Start & End Dates

  • Cohort 1: Wednesday, May 20 - Friday, August 7, 2026 (11 ½ Weeks)

  • Cohort 2: Monday, June 1 - Friday, August 21, 2026 (12 Weeks)

  • Cohort 3: Monday, June 15 - Friday, September 4, 2026 (12 Weeks)

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in the design and execution of adversary emulations, emerging threats & techniques research, and measure product effectiveness.

  • Support the analysis and reverse engineering of malware and offensive security tools to understand threat actor tradecraft.

  • Report findings and mitigation strategies to both technical and management audiences.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enhance CrowdStrike products’ capabilities.

What You’ll Need:

  • A rising junior or senior Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning  student, graduating between December 2026 to August 2027

  • Strong foundational knowledge of security concepts, tools, and best practices.

  • Windows / Linux / Mac operating system experience (Cloud is a bonus).

  • Interest in or exposure to penetration testing, reverse engineering or malware analysis through coursework, personal projects, or certifications.

  • Experience or coursework in at least one high-level programming language (C/C++, Python, Java, etc.) and basic understanding of assembly language.

Bonus Points:

  • Participation in security communities (CTF competitions, bug bounty programs, open-source security projects)

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly in a technical environment.
