Program Manager III, Product Data Management, Google Cloud
The Product Data Management (PDM) team ensures the integrity, accessibility, and scalability of technical product data throughout the product lifecycle.
In this role, you will serve as the bridge between engineering design and supply chain execution, streamlining the transition from NPI to high-volume production through Bill of Materials (BOM) management, change control, and cross-functional collaboration. You will own the product data for critical New Product Introductions (NPIs), guiding them from concept to production. This involves working directly with NPI teams to ensure product data is clear, concise and valid, and is released according to program schedules to enable forecasting, ordering, and final production release of components and assemblies. Your key responsibilities include scheduling BOM reviews, managing deviations, completing production release of parts, and reviewing/approving all necessary change orders (ECOs/MCOs) for NPIs.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. - Ensure the accuracy of the BOM structures across PLM systems (Agile/Windchill). Establish and enforce policies for part creation and attribution, ensuring all PLM data meets quality standards before release.
- Oversee the product journey by conducting BOM audits prior to hardware builds to ensure data integrity and production readiness. You will serve as the gatekeeper for the product's digital thread, managing the transition from initial release through to the final disposition of parts at end-of-life.
- Manage end-to-end ECO/MCO processes to align design intent with physical execution. Ensure documented implementation of all changes while applying CM2 best practices to secure development and deployment timelines.
- Align project priorities and delivery milestones across all stakeholders, ensuring that internal design velocity and external manufacturing schedules are synchronized to meet development timelines.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in program or project management.
- Experience in Product Data Management (PDM), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), or New Product Introduction (NPI) with Manufacturing.
- Experience with engineering or manufacturing change order (ECO/MCO) processes and materials management (e.g., material disposition, materials requirements planning, inventory management).
Preferred qualifications:
- Certifications in CM2 Professional (CM2-P) or Comprehensive (CM2-C).
- 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- Experience applying CM2 principles within high-velocity hardware development environments.
- Experience managing product data from initial prototyping through mass production and final End-of-Life (EOL) disposition.
- Experience utilizing PLM tools (such as Agile or Windchill) to organize complex data sets and resolve technical documentation issues.
- Experience coordinating NPI and change management activities with Contract Manufacturers (CM) or Joint Development Manufacturers (JDM).
