Cerebras Systems builds the world's largest AI chip, 56 times larger than GPUs. Our novel wafer-scale architecture provides the AI compute power of dozens of GPUs on a single chip, with the programming simplicity of a single device. This approach allows Cerebras to deliver industry-leading training and inference speeds and empowers machine learning users to effortlessly run large-scale ML applications, without the hassle of managing hundreds of GPUs or TPUs.

Cerebras' current customers include top model labs, global enterprises, and cutting-edge AI-native startups. OpenAI recently announced a multi-year partnership with Cerebras, to deploy 750 megawatts of scale, transforming key workloads with ultra high-speed inference.

Thanks to the groundbreaking wafer-scale architecture, Cerebras Inference offers the fastest Generative AI inference solution in the world, over 10 times faster than GPU-based hyperscale cloud inference services. This order of magnitude increase in speed is transforming the user experience of AI applications, unlocking real-time iteration and increasing intelligence via additional agentic computation.

About The Role

We are seeking a senior, highly motivated Sr. Global Data Center Asset Manager to independently own and scale asset management across our global data center footprint. This is a Senior Individual Contributor role, designed for a hands-on operator with deep experience in data center logistics, hardware lifecycle management, and process design.

In this role, you will serve as the single threaded owner of asset management strategy and execution, operating directly within production data center environments while collaborating closely with Operations, Finance, Vendor Management, and Sourcing teams. You will be responsible for building, improving, and sustaining asset management workflows, controls, tooling, and metrics that scale with a rapidly growing, hardware centric infrastructure.

Why We Need You

As our data center footprint and hardware deployments scale globally, accurate asset tracking, lifecycle visibility, and audit readiness are critical to operational reliability and financial integrity.

This role is essential to ensuring high value hardware assets are accurately tracked from receipt through deployment, movement, audit, and secure disposition across remote data center locations. As a Senior IC, you will evaluate existing workflows, identify gaps, and independently drive improvements that increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost optimization while remaining closely connected to day-to-day execution.

Responsibilities

Own Global Asset and Logistics Management
  • Serve as the primary owner for global data center asset management and logistics operations
  • Balance strategic ownership with hands on execution, directly supporting day to day asset management activities.
  • Ensure consistent lifecycle tracking for hardware assets across all data center sites.
Asset Lifecycle and Inventory Flow Optimization
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve asset lifecycle processes to track hardware location, status, age, and movement.
  • Partner with Data Center Managers, Technicians, and Engineers to optimize asset flow, spare inventory levels, and turn rates.
  • Identify and resolve asset discrepancies, aging inventory risks, and process gaps.
Tooling, DCIM and Automation
  • Input, maintain, and leverage asset management and DCIM tools to ensure accurate, timely, and reliable asset data.
  • Define and enforce asset tagging standards and data quality controls.
  • Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual tracking, reporting, and reconciliation effort.
Process, Controls and Audit Readiness
  • Build and maintain policies and procedures for asset tracking, auditing, and secure disposition of equipment.
  • Conduct periodic audits, cycle counts, and reconciliations to validate data integrity and compliance. Support fixed asset audits and financial reconciliation efforts in partnership with Finance.
Vendor and Cross Functional Collaboration
  • Own day to day vendor relationships related to logistics, asset handling, and disposal services.
  • Partner with Vendor Management and Sourcing teams to develop and maintain vendor performance scorecards.
  • Work cross functionally with Operations, Finance, and Sourcing to align asset management execution with business needs.
Metrics, Reporting and Continuous Improvement
  • Define, gather, and report asset lifecycle metrics including inventory accuracy, asset movement, aging inventory, and audit findings.
  • Use data driven insights to drive continuous process improvement and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Provide clear, actionable reporting to support operational and financial decision making.

Required Background

  • 10 plus years of experience in data center asset management, logistics, and hardware lifecycle tracking
  • Proven experience independently owning asset management processes in large scale data center environments
  • Strong background in inventory management, spare tracking, asset movement, and lifecycle governance
  • Experience working with asset management systems and DCIM tools
  • Familiarity with fixed asset audits, financial reconciliation, and inventory cycle counts
  • Vendor management experience including performance tracking, SLA accountability, and scorecard development
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and data reporting skills
  • Ability to work cross functionally without direct authority
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Process oriented mindset with a strong focus on automation and continuous improvement
  • Willingness to travel to remote data center sites approximately 10 percent

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with rack ingestion, decommissioning, and media destruction best practices
  • Experience supporting globally distributed data center operations
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools
  • Experience operating in fast growth, hardware centric environments
