Project Manager (People PMO)
You enjoy bringing order to chaos and building systems that help teams work better. If you are ready to shape how the JetBrains People department operates from the ground up and enjoy navigating ambiguity, this role is for you.
About JetBrains
We create intelligent software development tools for developers and teams. More than 15 million users, over 300,000 companies, and 88 of the Fortune Global Top 100 rely on our products to solve real, complex problems. Our mission is simple: make development teams more productive and AI adoptable at scale.
What you’ll do
The People Project Management Office (PMO) is a new function created to bring structure, clarity of ownership, and coordination to how our People Department runs its initiatives. As Project Manager, you will step in to build the operational core of this team, taking the lead on work that moves our internal operations forward. This is a chance to join a team that’s building something new and figuring it out as we go, meaning you will have genuine influence over how frameworks take shape. You will work closely with the Head of PMO and act as the connector between our People subteams and cross-functional partners like Operations, Finance, Legal, and Product Divisions. You will balance process design with hands-on project delivery, ensuring everyone has what they need to make informed decisions and act.
Day to day, you will:
- Run the PMO's coordination rhythm, including syncs with the HR Tech team, prioritization cycles, and department events.
- Design lightweight project management frameworks and templates for colleagues to rely on.
- Mentor and support colleagues who take on project management responsibilities within their own teams.
- Plan and coordinate the rollout of organizational initiatives through structured change management.
- Take full ownership of defined projects from start to finish, tracking timelines, decisions, and follow-through.
- Maintain an overview of the People project portfolio to track priorities, risks, and capacity.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual work and help implement automation.
- Define success metrics and use data to evaluate the outcomes of our initiatives.
What you’ll bring
- A natural inclination toward process thinking – spotting where things are missing or broken and doing something about it.
- Discretion and good judgment when handling sensitive organizational information.
- The ability to switch between strategic process design and tactical execution without losing momentum.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a knack for creating structure where there is none.
- The capability to keep multiple workstreams moving simultaneously without dropping the ball.
What you’ll need
- Experience managing or coordinating projects within a People, HR, or internal operations context.
- Fluency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration in our international environment.
- The proven ability to translate context between different teams and seniority levels, keeping people aligned.
- Demonstrated experience working with digital tools and systems, adapting to new platforms quickly.
- A structured approach to work, emphasizing clear documentation and highly organized workflows.
What success looks like
Success in this role means you will have built a reliable foundation for how the People Department coordinates its work. You will know you are doing great when colleagues naturally rely on your frameworks, cross-functional dependencies are clear before they become blockers, and projects move forward predictably and transparently.
