This internship is a fixed-term opportunity lasting approximately 12 months, with the potential for extension subject to the approval of both parties.

This position requires Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Large Language Model skills commensurate with the ability to develop a successful pilot to address business needs.

We are looking for an AI/ML Software Engineer Intern to join our team in building validation capabilities for server customers. This temporary position (1 year) involves developing pilots with Large Language Models and Machine Learning approaches applied to internal and customer data. You will work closely with hardware engineering, test tools engineering, and validation teams to analyze data from validation tests and identify patterns of interest.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand validation data, test tools, and methodologies to support high-quality server program launches.
  • Evaluate whether AI/ML approaches or software-based automation are the most effective solutions for specific problems.
  • Define approaches, gather feedback from stakeholders, and collaborate with peers to create workable solutions.
  • Develop quick pilots using Machine Learning and Deep Learning approaches, including Large Language Models and Multimodal Large Models.
  • Understand processor architecture and features to apply the appropriate data and approach for problem-solving.
  • Develop distributed data engineering and ML training approaches and execute them.

Qualifications:

This position is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship. You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research and relevant previous job and/or internship experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Fluent proficiency in English.

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics or related STEM field, remaining as student during the length of internship.

  • 3+ months of experience or knowledge in:

    • Programming and debugging skills in C and/or C++ and Python including object-oriented design.

    • AI/ML techniques using structured and unstructured data.

    • Frameworks like PyTorch or Tensorflow or Scikit-learn.

    • LLM fine tuning techniques like LoRA, PEFT, usage of pipelines, and other techniques like RAG, and Prompt Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ months of knowledge or experience in:

    • External Links to GitHub repository or an equivalent (with public access) showing skills and experience

    • Software engineering practices, including the use of design patterns, object-oriented development, development source control, service-oriented architecture, and overall software design methodology

    • Xeon architectural background (knowledge of Uncore and platform)

    • System software components, such as Linux and Windows internals, drivers, and runtime

    • Experience with multithreaded programming and techniques

    • Experience in running distributed/parallel processing of data or distributed training of ML models.
