Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a sales leader for the State & Local Government and Higher Education business. The leader will be responsible for driving awareness and adoption of workloads on AWS’s global cloud computing platform.

As an Enterprise SLG & EDU Sales Leader, you will have the exciting opportunity to help drive the growth and shape the future of cloud and artificial intelligence. Your responsibilities will include growing and managing a highly talented sales team focused on driving revenue, adoption, and market awareness in the State & Local Government and Higher Education market segments. This includes determining the most effective go-to-market strategies, and collaborating with the Commercial Sales, Public Policy, Legal, Marketing, Contracts and Executive leadership along the way.

The ideal candidate will possess a sales management background that enables them to lead a team of senior account executives with engagements at the CXO level.

Key job responsibilities
  • Hire and develop a senior team of account executives
  • Assign sales territories, set goals and quota, and ensure proper training programs for the sales team
  • Manage and coach the sales team to optimal performance
  • Drive revenue and market share in a defined region
  • Accelerate customer adoption and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain a robust sales pipeline
  • Work with partners to extend reach & drive adoption
  • Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of technology related sales, business development or equivalent experience
  • Experience in management of large, complex enterprise accounts or equivalent
  • 7+ years of cloud services sales management experience
  • Background and experience supporting State and Local Government and Higher Education customers.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), and sales incentives. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
