Category Manager, Logistics Services
As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for pioneering category and sourcing strategies, cultivating relationships, and optimizing spend categories through data-driven insights to unlock value for our organization. You will proactively leverage new technologies to enhance how we operate and make decisions. You will apply data analysis and market research skills, coupled with an understanding of logistics freight and warehousing industry leading practices. You will establish, track, and analyze category performance targets. You will also contribute to improving and sustaining our culture and operations by fostering a welcoming environment, being a dependable teammate, and collaborating effectively. Furthermore, you will identify needs and perspectives across various user identities, backgrounds, viewpoints, and cultures, designing solutions that uphold Google's values.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $131,000-$192,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Develop/execute comprehensive global category strategies for logistics, freight and warehousing. Be a trusted advisor, leading cross-functional teams in request for (RFx) processes and dicussions.
- Cultivate relationships, overseeing performance, conducting reviews, and discussing favorable terms, ensuring quality, innovation, and risk mitigation.
- Leverage AI tools to identify automation opportunities, analyze patterns, trends, and procurement data, generating insights for informed decision-making.
- Collaborate globally, sharing best practices and contributing to worldwide strategies while ensuring regional alignment. Continuously identify/drive process improvements and new category initiatives. Actively contribute to a positive culture.
- Lead logistics freight, transportation, and warehousing sourcing, providing cost reduction through discussions. Investigate cost reductions and efficiencies by reviewing purchase agreements and contracts and finding second source options to reduce expenses.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience in a supply chain, procurement or related function.
- 3 years of experience in logistics sourcing, procurement and category management (specifically third-party logistics/warehousing and road freight services, automation, technical infrastructure, consumer electronics).
- Experience with RFx processes, agreements discussions, and supplier evaluations within logistics, freight, warehousing, transportation or related categories.
Preferred qualifications:
- Advanced degree or certifications in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a related field.
- Experience with sourcing tools and platforms such as Jaggaer or equivalent.
- Experience in analyzing procurement data, generating reports, and managing key performance indicators (KPIs) for performance evaluation.
- Excellent project management skills to lead initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, and in leveraging AI for procurement.
