Responsibilities
Conduct research to advance the state of the art in language models, NLU, NLG, question answering, and information extraction, with a focus on AR/VR applications Design and execute experiments, including coding, evaluation, and analysis of results Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams of researchers, engineers, and product managers within RLR and Meta Contribute to scientific publications, internal knowledge sharing, and open-source projects Support the identification of research goals aligned with the Surreal team’s product and technology roadmap Participate in mentoring and knowledge transfer within the team
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience Technical skills in building and experimenting with deep learning models or data pipelines Ability to independently define and execute research projects Solid track record of delivering research outcomes Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD preferred) in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or related fields Experience with NLP, large language models, or related AI research Familiarity with research publication processes is a plus Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and research Experience building text-to-video generative models, image-to-video generative models, video understanding models, and/or unified native video generative models
Compensation: $154,000/year to $217,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
