In this role, you will be a member of the quantum electronics team, owning our Computer-Aided Design (CAD) infrastructure for Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) and Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) development. As a Silicon CAD Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and optimization of our silicon design processes. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining CAD tools, flows, and methodologies to ensure efficient and effective design execution.
The full potential of quantum computing will be unlocked with a large-scale computer capable of complex, error-corrected computations. Google Quantum AI's mission is to build this computer and unlock solutions to classically intractable problems. Our roadmap is focused on advancing the capabilities of quantum computing and enabling meaningful applications.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
Debug and resolve CAD tool and flow related issues.
Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline design processes and improve efficiency.
- Develop and maintain CAD flows and methodologies for various silicon design stages (e.g., synthesis, place and route, verification, etc.).
Collaborate with design teams to provide CAD support throughout the project life-cycle.
- Evaluate and deploy new CAD tools and technologies to enhance design productivity and quality.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in CAD engineering.
- 5 years of experience with CAD software and process automation, e.g., scripting, job batching, etc.
- 5 years of experience working with industry-standard CAD tools (e.g., Synopsys, Cadence, Mentor Graphics).
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience applying machine learning techniques to improve CAD flow efficiency or optimization.
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., TCL, Python, Perl).
- Knowledge of hardware security best practices and tools for secure silicon design.
- Understanding of silicon design flow and methodologies.
- Familiarity with cloud-based CAD solutions.
