We are seeking a Power and Thermal Software Engineer Intern who is passionate about hands-on technical work with both internal and external teams. This role involves delivering impactful Fleet and Scale software solutions that are in high demand by our Data Center customers. As an intern, you will be part of a team dedicated to building Customer Fleet and Scale Capabilities for Data Center/Server customers, ensuring on-time, high-quality launches of Intel server programs and enhancing in-Fleet product experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain power diagnostic and thermal analysis tools to ensure optimal Intel Server performance.
Define, develop, and drive critical power and thermal stress workloads across platforms and software.
Collaborate with internal customer-focused teams and directly with customers to replicate and debug power and thermal issues.
Develop innovative power and thermal solutions to optimize stress workloads and support various power states.
Drive and develop stress workloads across High-Speed Link I/O, targeting UPI links between processors, memory links (DDR), and PCIe/CXL links.
Perform platform-level debug to identify root causes and resolve all functional and triage failures for power and thermal issues.
Engage directly with customers throughout the development cycle of server programs.

Qualifications:
This position is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship. You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research and relevant previous job and/or internship experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
Fluent proficiency in English.
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical, Electronics or related STEM field, remaining as student during the length of internship.
6+ months of experience or knowledge in:
C/C++ and Programming.
Multithreaded programming techniques.
Overall software development experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
6+ months of knowledge or experience in:
x86 assembly coding and debugging.
Intel Xeon architecture, including Un-Core and platform.
System software components such as Linux and Windows internals, drivers, and runtime.
Xeon performance monitoring tools and hardware hooks.
Thermal and power customer validation and debug use models
