About the Role:

The Technical Instructional Designer is responsible for designing high-impact learning experiences for technical enablement audiences, including Sales Engineers, Partners, and Alliances. This role works closely with the Director of Technical Enablement to translate technical strategy, product capabilities, and field requirements into structured, scalable learning programs that drive technical fluency and field execution.

While being a technical practitioner is not required, strong technical acumen and the ability to quickly learn complex technical concepts are critical to success in this role. Candidates with prior experience as a Sales Engineer or in a technical pre-sales role will be well positioned to excel.

This role focuses on learning design, curriculum architecture, and learner experience, partnering with SMEs, course writers, and content developers to bring technically accurate, engaging training to life across multiple delivery formats.

This role is foundational to how we enable technical sellers and partners at scale. By combining strong instructional design with technical understanding, you’ll help ensure our technical enablement programs are not only accurate, but practical, engaging, and impactful in the field.

What You'll Do:

  • Partner closely with the Director of Technical Enablement to design enablement strategies and curricula for technical sellers, partners, and alliance audiences

  • Translate technical goals and product complexity into clear learning objectives, modular curricula, and effective instructional flows

  • Design end-to-end learning experiences, including course architecture, assessments, applied exercises, and scenario-based learning

  • Collaborate with highly technical SMEs to extract knowledge, validate accuracy, and ensure learning aligns to real-world use cases

  • Guide and support course writers and content developers in executing against instructional design frameworks and standards

  • Design for multiple delivery modalities, including eLearning, instructor-led training (ILT), virtual training (VILT), workshops, labs, and blended programs

  • Apply adult learning principles and enablement best practices to improve retention, confidence, and field application

  • Ensure consistency in learning standards, structure, and experience across technical enablement programs

  • Iterate on learning design based on learner feedback, field insights, and evolving technical priorities

  • Leverage tools such as Google Workspace and AI-assisted design tools to accelerate design and iteration

What You'll Need:

  • Proven experience designing training for technical enablement audiences such as Sales Engineers, partners, or alliances

  • Strong instructional design expertise, including learning objective development, curriculum mapping, assessment design, and learner journey planning

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with highly technical stakeholders and complex subject matter

  • Experience designing learning for multiple delivery modalities

  • Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to operate from high-level objectives and translate them into scalable, effective learning solutions

Bonus Points:

  • Strong technical acumen and ability to quickly learn new technical concepts

  • Prior experience as a Sales Engineer, technical pre-sales professional, or in a hands-on technical role

  • Background in SaaS, cybersecurity or other complex technology domains.

  • Experience designing applied learning such as labs, simulations, or scenario-based technical training

  • Familiarity with enablement and learning platforms (e.g., Highspot, Docebo, Rise, Synthesia, Articulate)
