The Materials Program Manager Intern plays a key analytical role in supporting end‑to‑end supply chain operations. This position focuses heavily on data-driven decision-making, process optimization, and performance analysis to improve material flow, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency. The intern will work with cross-functional teams to analyze trends, streamline processes, and support the execution of materials strategies that enable on-time production and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze supply chain, materials, and inventory data to identify trends, bottlenecks, risks, and improvement opportunities across material movement and planning activities.
  • Build dashboards, reports, and metrics to monitor material health, supplier performance, and inventory accuracy using tools such as Excel, Python, or Power BI.
  • Support process optimization initiatives by mapping workflows, analyzing cycle times, and proposing data-backed solutions that reduce lead times and improve reliability.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of material movement to support production schedules, ensuring data accuracy and alignment across systems.
  • Support inventory management through reconciliation activities, variance analysis, and identifying root causes of discrepancies.
  • Partner with logistics, procurement, and supplier management teams to collect data, assess performance, and support material delivery improvements.
  • Contribute to root cause analysis and corrective action plans to resolve supply-related issues.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings, providing data insights that support decision-making, project deliverables, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Learn and apply supply chain concepts, analytical tools, and process improvement methodologies through hands-on projects and mentorship.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position.  Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related Engineering Science (with 1+ year remaining as an active student).
  • 3+ months of experience using at least one data analysis tool:
    • Python scripting
    • Excel (including Pivot Tables, graphs, and statistical formulas)
    • Power BI
  • Advanced English level.
  • Must have unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico (this role is not eligible for visa or immigration sponsorship).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of automation programming tools, such as Power BI or Python scripting.
  • Understanding of Datacenter, CPU, or Electronic Manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot).
  • Project management skills.
  • Familiarity with logistics duties.
  • ERP/MRP knowledge, especially SAP.
  • Experience with international material purchasing.
  • Understanding of import/export requirements.
  • Knowledge of transportation logistics.
