Team member will perform work at a Dell Federal Department of Defense Customer location. Working at direction of Department of Defense customer, team member will provide technical support and coordinate task and schedule for system integration work.

What you’ll achieve

As a Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) you’ll play a key role in

maintaining the cybersecurity posture of systems used in Test and Evaluation (T&E) activities. The ISSO focuses on daily cybersecurity operations, ensuring that systems are operated, maintained, and secured in accordance with established policies and procedures. You will leverage in-depth industry knowledge of the business environment and technical solutions to provide technical and consultative guidance and help the customer increase their operational efficiencies. You will provide technical and consultative leadership for Consulting technical solutions opportunities on a range of complex engagements, focused

on an industry or service offering. Requires an in-depth understanding of an organization’s

business, industry requirements and systems.

You will:

  • Understand the customer’s strategic, organizational and business challenges and offer solutions as they relate to the future business environment and operational objectives

Support to RMF and System Accreditation

  • Assist the ISSM in preparing and maintaining RMF artifacts, including:
  • System Security Plans (SSPs)
  • Security Control Implementation Plans (SCIPs)
  • Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms)
  • Track and document compliance status for test systems.
  • Support continuous monitoring and ATO sustainment for test environments.

System Security Implementation

  • Ensure that systems used in T&E are:
  • Configured securely (e.g., via DISA STIGs, security baselines)
  • Maintained in an approved configuration
  • Patched and updated to mitigate vulnerabilities
  • Validate that security controls are implemented as designed.

Vulnerability Management

  • Run and analyze vulnerability scans (e.g., ACAS, Nessus) on test systems.
  • Coordinate remediation or mitigation of findings.
  • Document results and provide updates to the ISSM for reporting.

User Account Management

  • Process and manage user account requests and access control procedures.
  • Ensure that all users have the appropriate level of access and clearances.
  • Monitor for unauthorized attempts or account misuse.

System and Test Event Support

  • Support security setup and validation of test systems prior to execution.
  • Monitor systems during T&E for security compliance and incident response.
  • Coordinate with GSSO, ISSM, and test teams to enforce secure operations.

Security Awareness and Training

  • Ensure T&E participants complete the required cybersecurity training.
  • Provide briefings and reminders about policies for data protection and system usage.
  • Reinforce secure handling of classified/sensitive information during test events.

Audit and Logging Oversight

  • Monitor and review audit logs for signs of suspicious or unauthorized activity.
  • Support audit trail maintenance and logging system configuration.
  • Document and report any security anomalies or deviations.

Incident Reporting and Response

  • Act as the first responder to cybersecurity incidents in the test environment.
  • Document, report, and escalate incidents per JPO and DoD guidelines.
  • Support containment, investigation, and recovery of affected systems.

Coordination with Stakeholders

  • Interface with ISSMs, system administrators, GSSOs, and test directors.
  • Communicate system security status and user responsibilities to the test team.
  • Support coordination with external cybersecurity entities when required (e.g., AO, SAPCO, DISA).

Documentation and Records Maintenance

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation on:
  • Security configurations
  • Patch status
  • Access logs
  • Training records
  • Ensure all cybersecurity documentation related to T&E is available for audits or inspections.
  • Share your experience and support less experienced co-workers through formal training or on-the-job mentoring
  • Work independently, with work being reviewed at critical points

Essential Requirements:

  • US Citizen
  • Possess active Top Secret Department of Defense (DoD) clearance
  • Possess CompTIA Security+ certification

Desirable Requirements:

  • Typically requires 5+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong trouble-shooting skills and adept verbal and written skills and demonstrated ability to document processes for the customer

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position in California is $141,100 – $182,600.
