Senior Indirect Tax Analyst

As a Senior Indirect Tax Analyst, you will play a key role in advising business units and internal stakeholders on the complex Value Added Tax (VAT) and indirect tax implications of Google’s product offerings and business operations.You will require expertise in EMEA VAT legislation and end-to-end governance frameworks to ensure compliance, mitigate risk, and strategically advise on new product launches, market expansions, and mergers and acquisitions. You will be responsible for managing interactions with tax authorities, external advisors, and internal Google Finance teams.

- Be a indirect tax technical advisor for company-wide and Finance initiatives, providing strategic VAT guidance on product areas, technical infrastructure, finance transformation projects, and the enhancement of end-to-end VAT governance frameworks.
- lead for new product launches and market expansions, overseeing VAT diligence and partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure compliant business growth.
- Monitor the EMEA VAT landscape to assess the impact of legislative changes, advising on cross-functional roadmaps for system and process adjustments to ensure alignment with evolving indirect tax regimes.
- Manage VAT audits, including coordinating information requests and serving as a liaison between tax authorities, external advisors, and internal Google teams.
- Advise EMEA Finance stakeholders on VAT compliance frameworks, conducting mergers and acquisitions tax due diligence and integration oversight to ensure seamless indirect tax compliance.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent practical experience.
- Certified Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor (or equivalent recognized professional tax and accounting certification).
- 7 years of experience in tax.
- 7 years of experience analyzing and advising on indirect tax legislation, to communicate tax concepts to non-tax audiences.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with international indirect tax (VAT) in a multinational environment, encompassing advisory, compliance oversight, and strategic input, gained in industry, practice, or a combination thereof.
- Experience working with internal teams and external advisors.
- Ability to deliver high-quality work efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent collaborative skills.
