Join the team and help make Wallet an indispensable part of the Google experience! You will support the core integration of Chrome and Android, powering the passes in Google Wallet. You will enhance how we save and auto-fill data for receipts, flights, events, loyalty programs, and more, impacting millions of users.

Whether it is paying online with Autofill, using tap and pay in stores, or using the Google Pay app, the Payments team at Google is focused on making payments simple, seamless, and secure. In addition to consumer payment technologies, the Payments team also powers the money movement between Google and its consumers and businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain features for importing pass data from Chrome or Android into Google Wallet. This includes verticals such as receipts, flight reservations, loyalty cards, event tickets, offers, and hotel reservations.
  • Design and implement new features, improvements to existing features, and UI building blocks, with a focus on maintainability and reusability within the Google Wallet Android app and in Google Play Services modules.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing and incorporating feedback to maintain code quality and share knowledge.
  • Collaborate with the engineers, Product Managers, UX, and other teams (like Chrome and Android intelligence teams) to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin).
  • 1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience with Android application development.
  • Experience in Java for back-end coding language.
  • Experience in Android Java app development and Google Play Services modules.
