We're specifically looking for a Software Engineer with deep Windows expertise to help us build and maintain Claude Code, our AI-powered coding assistant. The ideal candidate will have a passion for developer tools, strong experience building CLI applications on Windows, and a desire to ensure Windows developers have a first-class experience with our tools.
Claude Code is used by developers around the world, and a significant portion of them work in Windows environments. This role is critical to ensuring our product works seamlessly for Windows users—from installation to daily workflows.
Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain Windows-specific features and infrastructure for Claude Code

Own the Windows developer experience, ensuring Claude Code installs, runs, and performs reliably across Windows environments

Develop and maintain PowerShell integrations and scripts that enable smooth Windows workflows

Collaborate with the broader Claude Code team to ensure cross-platform compatibility and feature parity

Work with Windows package managers (Chocolatey, winget, scoop) to streamline installation and updates for Windows users

Debug and resolve Windows-specific issues, including file system, permissions, and shell compatibility challenges

Engage directly with Windows developers inside and outside Anthropic to gather feedback and improve user experience

Contribute to technical documentation to help Windows users get the most out of Claude Code

Have deep Windows development experience, including PowerShell scripting and Windows system integration

The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.
Annual Salary:
$320,000-$485,000 USD
Logistics
Education requirements: We require at least a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
