Google Fi Wireless is Google’s wireless service initiative that connects people to the carrier Wi-Fi networks and enables positive communication experiences. The team is responsible for building the solution to help make wireless data access a reality.

Our team is responsible for the entire subscriber journey, from plan selection and device activation to providing award-winning coverage around the world. Our team's deep expertise spans cellular network operations, iOS and Android app development, and subscription business operations.

The Fi team applies Google's AI to solve complex, real-world problems - from AI-enhanced call audio to AI billing summaries to AI-powered cohort analysis - that helps Google Fi customers stay reliably connected to what’s most important to them.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions for both Android apps and operating systems.
Develop power and performance optimized solutions for Android phones.
Debug and fix user reported issues.
Manage individual projects priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development in the Java or Kotlin programming language.
1 year of experience with networking protocols.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
2 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
Experience working mobile application development, networking (Wi-Fi), security software development (VPN).
Passion for learning new technologies and solving user-facing problems.
