The gTech Users & Products (gUP) Engineering Organization is chartered to create technology tools, platforms and services which delight our users to have the best product and support experience. We build technologies which make our business operations cost effective, efficient and scalable.

The Operations Intelligence team is a newly created team at the forefront of transforming how we create, manage, and deliver support content by leveraging data and automation.

In gTech Users and Products (gUP), our mission is to advocate for Google’s users by creating helpful and trusted experiences across the product ecosystem. We achieve this by meeting partners and consumers where they are with support and help, representing their needs with our product partners and proposing fixes and features that elevate their engagement with Google's diverse product ecosystem. Additionally we provide a range of product services that ensure our products are optimized for every user, no matter where they are in the world (e.g., localization, digitization, partner integration and more).

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software features and components as part of a team.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience programming in Java.
  • 2 years of experience programming in Typescript

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 2 years of experience with performance, large-scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
  • Experience with Machine Learning.
  • Proficiency in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering.
