About the Role:
The Manager, Crisis Management, will play a key role in CrowdStrike's Crisis Management program within the global Resilience organization. This role is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive crisis management capabilities that ensure CrowdStrike can effectively respond to and recover from disruptions, incidents, and crisis events through an all-hazards approach.
As a critical component of the Resilience organization, this role helps manage the enterprise-wide crisis response framework, crisis team readiness, and response plan development and maintenance. You will ensure leadership and response teams are prepared to effectively manage crisis situations through strategic planning, training, exercises, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This position both supports and drives crisis management activities across the organization, collaborates with cross-functional response teams, and serves as a key advisor to leadership during crisis activations.
Location Requirement: This role is open to candidates based remotely in Pacific or Mountain timezones within United States.
What You'll Do:
Primary Responsibilities:
Crisis Management Program Leadership: Develop, implement, and maintain CrowdStrike's crisis management program, including response plans, procedures, and protocols that align with industry best practices and organizational needs
Exercise Design & Facilitation: Design, facilitate, and evaluate crisis management exercises and simulations of increasing complexity to validate plans, build team capabilities, and identify improvement opportunities
Crisis Response Leadership: Serve as, or provide direct support to, Incident Commander during crisis activations, providing leadership and coordination across response teams
Training & Capability Development: Develop and deliver crisis management training programs for response team members and executives to ensure readiness and build organizational response capabilities
After-Action Analysis: Conduct comprehensive after-action reviews following exercises and real-world incidents, tracking improvement actions through the corrective action program and ensuring lessons learned are incorporated into future planning
Secondary Responsibilities:
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the company to support cross-functional crisis response capabilities and ensure alignment with business objectives
Program Integration: Support broader business continuity initiatives including business impact analysis and threat/hazard assessments to ensure alignment between crisis management and other resilience disciplines
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of the company's overall resilience posture through regular program assessments and implementation of best practices
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with other teams including Information Security, Global Security, Corporate Communications, and Enterprise Risk Management to ensure coordinated response capabilities
Subject Matter Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise on crisis management best practices to leadership and stakeholders across the organization
What You'll Need:
Experience: 8+ years of experience in crisis management, emergency management, or incident response, with demonstrated experience as an Incident Commander
Crisis Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams during high-stress situations, make critical decisions under pressure, and coordinate complex response activities
Exercise Development: Experience designing and facilitating crisis exercises, tabletops, and simulations with demonstrated ability to create realistic scenarios that test organizational capabilities
Crisis Communications: Strong understanding of crisis communications principles and stakeholder management with experience developing messaging strategies during incidents
Technology Sector Knowledge: Experience supporting crisis management in the technology sector, particularly cloud-native environments
Certifications: Relevant certification in crisis management, business continuity, or resilience disciplines (e.g., CEM, CBCP, MBCI)
Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing situations
Communication: Outstanding written and oral communication skills, including experience developing and delivering briefings to executive leadership during crisis situations
Program Management: Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and project management skills with ability to coordinate multiple workstreams during crisis response
Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organization and build trusted relationships
Education: Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Risk Management, Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience
Availability: Ability to work nights and weekends during crisis events and provide on-call support as needed
Bonus Points:
Familiarity with the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Incident Command System (ICS)
Experience with crisis management software platforms and collaboration tools
Knowledge of ISO22301 and other relevant standards/frameworks
Experience developing crisis communications strategies and messaging

Placement within the pay range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, job level, supervisory status, and location.
