Formats are optional ad primitives that enhance the Search Ad experience by providing a preview to the advertisers’ landing pages and assisting users in finding the most useful results. They are a big driver of providing user experience for many Google.com users.
Our mission is to compose the right ad to meet users and advertisers needs. The era of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) has accelerated the need to quickly build and ship new ad experiences. Search ads are ripe for innovation as we move from text-based content to AI-powered multimodal content or query-dependent content world which we believe our users expect on major surfaces.
