Job Description – FP&A COE Finance Manager
This is an outstanding chance to join eBay's FP&A Center of Excellence (COE) and build the future of global finance. The COE is a newly established global finance organization composed to centralize, standardize, and scale core FP&A activities. By joining this team, you will play a pivotal role in improving decision-making processes and financial rigor across the organization.
About the team
This role is part of the FP&A Center of Excellence (COE), a global finance organization designed to centralize, standardize, and scale core FP&A activities. The COE plays a critical role in supporting both local FP&A teams and business units by acting as a centralized FP&A capability with deep expertise across month-end close activities, forecasting, reporting, and financial analysis.
As a Senior Manager, you will manage several teams or pods within the COE. You will ensure delivery quality, timeliness, collaborator experience, and ongoing improvement. You will play a key role in driving the transition of work into the COE, establishing performance expectations and KPIs, and advancing innovation through standardization, automation, and AI-enabled solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead multiple FP&A teams or pods within the COE, with overall accountability for delivery quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
Own and monitor KPIs, service levels, and performance metrics across teams, ensuring commitments are met and issues are proactively addressed.
Act as a senior contact for FP&A partners, addressing questions, issues, and ad-hoc requests related to close, forecasting, and reporting.
Ensure consistent, high-quality execution of month-end close, including OPEX accruals, variance analysis, and reporting across supported areas.
Oversee forecasting and budgeting activities, ensuring consistency of assumptions, outputs, and methodologies across teams.
Partner closely with Controllership to ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal controls, and audit requirements.
Lead and coordinate the transition of activities into the COE, ensuring effective knowledge transfer, documentation, stabilization, and risk management.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process standardization, automation, system enhancements, and the adoption of advanced analytics and AI-enabled tools.
Develop and mature the COE operating model, including governance, capacity planning, prioritization, and ways of working.
Lead, develop, and inspire managers and senior individual contributors; provide regular feedback, coaching, and performance guidance.
Support talent development, succession planning, and the scaling of leadership capability within the COE.
Experience and Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
10+ years of progressive finance experience, including FP&A and people leadership.
Strong expertise in accrual-based accounting, forecasting, budgeting, and financial controls.
Proven experience leading multiple teams or complex workstreams in a global, matrixed environment.
Experience establishing performance metrics, KPIs, and service delivery expectations.
Hands-on experience with financial planning and reporting systems such as Anaplan, SAP, BW, or similar.
Strong communication and collaborator management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders.
Comfort operating in evolving environments with ambiguity, change, and scale.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial storytelling skills.
Demonstrated passion for building teams, developing talent, and driving scalable finance solutions through automation and innovation.
