Program Manager III, Advanced Energy Market Innovation, Cloud Networking

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.
Google's Advanced Energy team plays a critical role in supporting the company's AI growth by leading new strategies and technologies for Google's global data center energy needs. Within this group, the Advanced Energy Market Innovation team is a specialized unit focused on redesigning power markets to unlock latent grid capacity, support flexible resources, and enable clean firm technologies.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Drive analytical projects and partnerships from inception to completion, ensuring deliverables are aligned with advanced energy's objectives.
- Manage and support the full life-cycle of market innovation initiatives, including internal planning, securing cross-functional approvals, scoping statements of work, managing vendors, and coordinating with partners.
- Synthesize market analysis into practical insights and proposals for strategic advocacy, executive decision-making, and industry-facing thought leadership.
- Translate technical research results into high-impact artifacts, including formal comments for regulatory dockets, policy briefs, and practical proposals for market reform.
Build trusted relationships with program stakeholders, including managing expectations of cross-functional leads and ensuring they have the insights they need to make decisions.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in program or project management.
- Experience in the electric power sector.
- Experience in energy market analysis or consulting.
Preferred qualifications:
- 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- Experience in technical writing, strategic planning, and vendor management.
- Ability to manage projects across an ecosystem of internal teams and external partners.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to scope and review high-quality analysis.
