Senior Program Manager II

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.
As a Senior Program Manager, you are responsible for establishing and leading this new function, which is central to professionalizing our project delivery processes and supporting the Google Data Centers (GDC) North Star: Go Fast, Safely.
In this high-impact role, you will be the organizational engine for commitment to operational excellence and efficiency. You will own the strategic outlook and execution of key operational functions, including process improvement, capital planning, buyout oversight, and performance reporting with respect to cost savings and contractors.
You will serve as a primary change agent, driving process standardization and governance to reduce bureaucracy. You will use your exceptional leadership, the ability to challenge existing norms, and influence executive stakeholders across a global, matrixed organization. You will deliver measurable business impact by translating commercial controls into tangible project velocity and cost reduction.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $221,000-$311,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Define and manage governance forums and executive reporting processes to monitor project progress, buy out of projects, risks, mitigations, and critical trade-offs for leadership decision-making.
- Establish and oversee performance reporting for the contractor landscape and cost savings, enabling pressure-testing for improvements.
- Coordinate funding requests for executive approval.
- Advocate strategic, cross-functional programs, process improvements, managing dependencies and influencing partners to break down silos and enable faster project delivery.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in program management or project controls within the data center or construction industry.
- 5 years of experience leading and developing PMO teams or equivalent functions focused on process improvement and governance.
Preferred qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in data center construction, heavy industrial project delivery, or hyperscale infrastructure programs.
