In this position, you will be a member of the Data Center Performance Engineering and Competitive Marketing team.
This team is responsible for performance benchmarking and analysis to enable DCG, sales engagement, marketing messaging, and influence future product development.
As the Cloud Performance Engineer, you will track cloud service provider instances, work with the cloud lead on performance planning and track execution and reviews of performance data.
A critical function of the role is to analyze the results and identify creative ways to present performance and product positioning collateral to help customers migrate from older instances and differentiate versus competition.
You will also be expected to provide trainings, both internally to field teams and sometimes directly to customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Be the expert on different cloud based instances across top CSPs
- Close collaboration with account teams to best position current and future Intel-based instances
- Identifying key features and capabilities that offer competitive differentiation.
- Knowledge of workloads relevant to cloud customers and understanding of cloud instances
- Developing, prioritizing plans to measure workload performance
- Working with performance engineers to collect/review data with ability to double click and go through workload logs to understand the performance data
- Creating customer ready collateral to highlight product features and capabilities and train the field teams on showcasing the product value.
- Build a strong network and partner with various teams - product, engineering, marketing, sales
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 3+ years of work experience in the computer industry.
- 2+ years of experience in system configuration/administration.
- 1+ years of experience in scripting (Python/bash).
- 1+ years of experience in platform benchmarking or performance tuning.
- 1+ years of experience with public cloud environments.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Attention to details.
- Excellent written communication and demonstrated presentation skills.
- Advanced command of English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- System design or prior software experience.
- Knowledge of computer architecture.
- Understanding of datacenter verticals such as enterprise, HPC, cloud and/or hyper-scale apps/workloads and benchmarks.
- Proficient to articulate and share product value with a variety of technical depth based on need (to our field, planning, marketing, architecture, management).
- Skill to assess competitive potential of announced and projected future platform products, including features, performance, schedule, etc.
- Ability to build partner network and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to learn.
