About the Organization

We support Marketing, Sales, Seller, Accounting, Tax, Finance & Strategy (F&S), Finance Operations (FinOps) and Treasury functions across Automation, Data insights and process improvements.

Seller Systems: Responsible for building the systems and tooling that make Stripe’s sellers and internal revenue teams dramatically more productive and effective. We partner with Sales, Finance, Legal, and Product to deliver a single “plane of glass” selling experience that spans deal creation and modeling, negotiation and approvals, contracting, onboarding, and activation. The Seller Systems team composes first‑party, custom Stripe components with best‑in‑class third‑party business systems to deliver configurable, auditable, and globally scalable workflows. Engineers on Seller Systems build services, APIs, integrations, data pipelines, and internal UIs that power seller productivity, reduce time‑to‑activation, improve deal velocity, and enable AI‑driven assistive workflows. Use cases include deal modeling and pricing engines, approval and orchestration platforms, CLM/CPQ integrations, onboarding automation, seller analytics, and AI‑assisted seller tooling.
Finance Engineering: Responsible for building the robust and scalable infrastructure that powers the company's core financial operations, including payments processing, fund settlement, accounting, and business intelligence. The Finance Engineering team is at the core of Stripe to empower mission-critical financial domains including Accounting, Finance operations, Finance & Strategy, and Treasury. Engineers on the Financial Engineering team build platforms, data pipelines, and financial products for the Finance team. The use cases include financial analytics and insights, accounting automation, auditing, financial planning & forecasting, and financial business intelligence.
Marketing/Sales Systems: Responsible for building the most measurable, cross-channel messaging capability possible, to attract and engage customers. We will do this through scalable motions, with the most relevant messaging and increasing reach of our marketing motions. We are a cross functional team of engineers, analysts, marketers, and product managers that deliver the insights, internal systems and tools that fuel Stripe’s growth.
As part of the Marketing Systems team, you will own systems that power go-to-market motions productizing gathered insights and intelligence. This includes building tools that 1/ power better digital experiences, 2/ accelerate customer journey with intelligent orchestrations 3/ drive smarter decisions with CDP 4/ improve marketer and seller productivity.
What you’ll do
We’re looking for Software Engineers who want to make an impact on managing money at a global scale with a passion for building ergonomic APIs. You’ll play a key role in extending our balance management platform and in building out a new funds accessibility platform leveraged by enterprises and SMBs alike. Our team collaborates with many cross-functional teams – from Infrastructure to Product – at Stripe to deliver innovative solutions that address evolving user needs.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain beautiful, robust, and high-performance APIs and services
- Ensure our infrastructure is extensible, scalable, reliable, and meets SLAs for both external and internal users
- Hide complexity from our users behind simple yet powerful abstractions
- Partner closely with other engineers, analysts and scientists to build highly scalable system(s), to deliver delightful developer experiences and comprehensive interfaces
- Build the APIs that power internal stakeholder facing UI experiences, defining composable data models and durable interfaces.
- Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack with an eye towards improving maintainability over the long term.
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
Who you are

Minimum requirements
- 4-12 years of experience designing, implementing, and operating large-scale, high-performance APIs and services
- You have implemented server-side APIs in dynamic languages like Ruby, working with document and relational datastores (especially Mongo and MySQL).
- You enjoy spelunking through new datasets (especially in systems like Redshift or Presto/Trino).
- Empathetic, collaborative, and user-first mindset in everything you build
- Experience proactively seeking feedback from users, teammates, and subject matter experts
- The skills to build holistically – from specs and documentation to implementation, testing, deployment, and measuring impact
- The ability to balance speed, complexity, and scope in service of user needs
- You have excellent oral and written communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale financial tracking systems
- Good understanding and practical knowledge in cloud based services (e.g. gRPC, GraphQL, Docker/Kubernetes, cloud services such as AWS, etc.)
- Experience in marketing domain building products that contribute to marketing tech stack.
- Experience with machine learning, recommender systems, product-led growth, and/or lifecycle marketing.
- Prior experience building distributed systems or a microservices architecture
