Technical Program Manager II, Hearables Testing, Google Pixel

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
Pixel Test Engineering encompasses all aspects of Pixel products testing. As part of this organization, the System Test team is tasked with producing, monitoring, and maintaining quality signals in functional and non-functional domains of power, thermals, performance, battery Charging, and Storage for all Pixel products, including Pixel phones, foldables, hearables, and wearables. The team has also expanded into companion application testing for first-party ecosystem products.
The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Test, plan, and execute for new products and in-market sustaining releases.
- Identify test escape and quality gaps, and work with the team to improve the test coverage and efficiency to improve product software quality.
Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand or identify defined work problems and program goals, obtain prioritized deliverables, and discuss program impact.
Prioritize program goals, understand and translate other stakeholders’ needs into program goals and prioritized deliverables with minimal assistance, and contribute to decisions on prioritizing goals and deliverables
Review key metrics pertaining to a program, monitor potential metric deviations, and define corrective actions for critical deviations.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in program management.
- Experience with mobile software development.
- Experience in test development (e.g., design validation, hardware, manufacture, product, performance, quality testing).
Preferred qualifications:
- 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- Experience debugging tough technical issues that cross boundaries between hardware and software engineering teams.
- Experience with software release management practices, tooling, and automation.
- Ability to lead cross-functional projects involving software, hardware, and testing teams to deliver high-quality products on schedule.
