About the team and the role:
As a Senior Design Program Manager (DPM), you will lead innovation and execution across the eBay Live experience. eBay Live is redefining how buyers and sellers connect—combining storytelling, entertainment, and commerce in real time. This role offers the opportunity to help shape a category-defining experience and influence how millions of users engage with eBay in entirely new ways.
This is a strategic, high-growth area at the intersection of commerce, creators, and community. This role sits within the design organization and partners closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Content, Research and Operations to deliver best-in-class live shopping experiences.
As a DPM, you will be responsible for translating bold ideas into shipped experiences—driving clarity, alignment, and momentum across complex, fast-moving initiatives. You will ensure design excellence is delivered at scale while helping shape the future vision of eBay Live.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills are required. This is a hybrid role available to someone located in Toronto, ON and who is able to work in office at least 3 days per week.
What you will accomplish:
Drive end-to-end program execution for eBay Live design initiatives, from early concept through launch and iteration
Partner with Design, Product, and Engineering leaders to define scope, achievements, dependencies, and success metrics
Enable innovation by creating lightweight processes that allow teams to experiment, prototype, and learn quickly while still delivering on commitments
Own design delivery planning, including roadmaps, timelines, resourcing, and risk management across multiple concurrent workstreams
Facilitate cross-functional alignment through regular rituals, clear communication, decision-making frameworks, and documentation
Remove obstacles that slow teams down, proactively identifying risks and driving resolutions
Champion the eBay Live experience, ensuring a cohesive, high-quality end-to-end customer journey across surfaces and touchpoints
Operationalize design by improving workflows, tools, and rituals that help designers do their best work
Measure impact, using qualitative and quantitative signals to assess outcomes and inform future direction
What you will bring:
5–8+ years of experience in program management, design operations, or PDLC execution, with a strong focus on digital consumer experiences
Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional programs involving design, product, and engineering
Strong understanding of design and product development processes, especially in agile environments
Demonstrated ability to drive innovation while delivering at scale—you can balance vision with pragmatism
Excellent communication and partner management skills, including comfort working with senior leaders
Experience with live, interactive, or user-focused products (e.g., live video, marketplaces, social commerce) is a strong plus
A problem solver who brings structure to ambiguity and thrives in fast-evolving spaces
