About the team and the role:

Join eBay as a Staff Product Designer - Regulatory, and take on a meaningful role in crafting the future of our high-visibility, fast-growing product. This position presents an outstanding opportunity to influence eBay Live’s global expansion, integrating complex regulatory and compliance requirements into seamless experiences for millions of buyers and sellers. Based in Austin, you will collaborate closely with product, legal, policy, and engineering to deliver world-class, scalable solutions that enhance trust and safety across markets.

What you will accomplish:

  • Own regulatory build outcomes for eBay Live’s global expansion, ensuring flawless, scalable experiences across selling and buying flows.

  • Collaborate across fields, including product management, engineering, legal, policy, research, and content, to transform complex regulatory requirements into clear, shippable solutions.

  • Lead end-to-end build processes from discovery through delivery, balancing speed, quality, and compliance in a high-visibility product area.

  • Ensure usability, clarity, and accessibility by working with research and content partners to test, validate, and refine regulatory experiences.

  • Lead collaborative workshops and build sprints to align collaborators, explore tradeoffs, and advance complex regulatory and experience challenges.

  • Contribute to foundational systems and patterns that embed trust, safety, and compliance into eBay Live, supporting long-term business growth.

What you will bring:

  • Proven experience in crafting and delivering end-to-end product experiences in close collaboration with product management and engineering.

  • Experience in regulated, trust- and safety-centered, or policy-limited areas, transforming legal and compliance requirements into clear, usable customer experiences.

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with experience working alongside legal, policy, research, and content teams.

  • Ability to operate with ownership in ambiguous problem spaces, framing problems, exploring solutions, and driving work forward with minimal direction.

  • Experience incorporating research, data, and content strategy into build decisions to improve clarity, accessibility, and usability at scale.

  • A method centered on developing across journeys, platforms, and markets, including experiences tailored for both buyers and sellers.

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

$127,600 - $214,700

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
