Senior UX Research Manager, Consumer Shopping
As a Senior UX Research Manager on Consumer Shopping, you will drive the development of consumer experiences on surfaces like Gemini, AI Mode, Shopping, helping us harness the power of AI to create shopping experiences people love. You will act as the advocate for the people who use our products as well as the members of your team.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $224,000-$315,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of qualitative and mixed-method researchers, helping them design and execute insights that drive business impact.
- Act as a thought leader, communicating and advocating user-centered recommendations at all levels of the organization.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to develop user-centered strategy, ensuring it is informed by the evolving consumer landscape.
- Develop relationships with partner teams across Google to triangulate insights and create data-driven recommendations to influence decision-making.
- Raise the quality bar for qualitative research methods and communication across Shopping UX Research.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in an applied research setting, or similar.
- 5 years of experience leading design projects and managing people or teams.
- Experience applying qualitative and quantitative research methodologies (e.g., usability studies, interviews, contextual inquiry, focus groups, field and lab studies, diary study and surveys).
- Experience conducting consumer research in all stages of the product development life-cycle, from conception to launch.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 10 years of experience conducting UX research on products and working with executive leadership.
- 7 years of experience managing projects, and working in a global organization.
- Experience defining creative research approaches.
- Experience in Commerce.
