Software Engineer, Google Cloud SDK

The Cloud SDK is used by developers to build applications on Google Cloud Platform. At Cloud SDK, we build API client libraries in various languages, the Google Cloud Command Line Interface (gcloud CLI), samples and other tools. At Cloud C++, we make GCP awesome for C++ developers.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
Write product or system development code.
- Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
- Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Build, support, and maintain C++ client libraries with Cloud SDK, and evolve with the open source C++ ecosystem.
- Work with partner teams across GCP to support client libraries for all GCP APIs in C++.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in C++, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Experience leveraging open source frameworks to build applications, as well as actively contributing to open source projects.
- Experience with infrastructure technologies and protocol buffers.
- Experience in AI/ML related engineering, developing, deploying, managing, and maintaining machine learning infrastructure.
