Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. While working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to solve big picture challenges.

In this role, you will act as a strategic business partner to the Global Business Organization (GBO) management team with a primary focus on advertising sales. You will support Greater China and Korea business finance operations such as reporting, forecasting, goal setting, analysis, and budget management. You will work with your peers and GBO management to provide deep investigative insight into both short term and longer term commercial insights and plans. You will act as a key advisor to the leadership team on topics such as business performance, market investment strategies, and resource planning.

The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Support critical financial processes such as business reporting, forecasting, goal setting, operational expenditure (OPEX) planning, and budget management.

  • Provide management with clear insights and recommendations into the business, market trends, risks and opportunities which lead to business enhancement and business actions.

  • Perform in-depth search analyses to identify growth drivers to influence business activity.

  • Manage projects involving multiple stakeholders, timelines, organizational implications, and changing circumstances.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to structure and execute strategic business initiatives to provide performance and investigative insights.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.
  • Ability to speak English and Korean to support clients and business stakeholders in the region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in developing strategies in fluid competitive environments, impeccable business judgment for resource allocation decisions to achieve the desired business outcome.
  • Understanding of spreadsheets, and SQL, with the ability to work with large volumes of complex data.

  • Ability to take ownership, confidence to interact with all levels, set objectives, drive results, and be a team player.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of departments.
  • Excellent communication, investigative, and modeling skills to analyze/structure agreements, support decisions, and provide post mortem analysis.
