Responsibilities
- Review and influence designs using Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFA) fundamentals to develop manufacturable and scalable sheet metal (soft and hard tooled) and complex electro-mechanical rack assembly products from concept to mass production.
- Provide technical feedback on suppliers to help drive Google's sourcing strategy, and then lead product qualifications and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) for mechanical parts, assemblies, and L11 rack integration at CM partners based on volume, ramp timeline, and product requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Design Engineering, Quality, Program Managers, Safety, Global Commodity Management, Sustaining Engineering, and Data Center Technicians to drive cost-effective designs and manufacturing processes optimized for scalability.
Work with the Product Data Management team to create, review, and approve the Bill of Materials (BoM), Approved Manufacturer Lists (AML), and Engineering Change Orders (ECO).

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing (e.g., design for manufacturability, process engineering, sheet metal).
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with mechanical design of complex mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies and fixtures, 3D CAD tools (Creo, SolidWorks), 2D drawings with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)/CTF/tolerance analysis and material selection, Bill of Material (BOM) creation using product data management systems (Agile, Windchill), and DFMEA/PFMEA.
- Experience with multiple fabrication processes such as NCT sheet metal, metal stamping, injection molding, die casting, CNC, welding, press brake forming, or hardware insertion and manufacturing statistical processes (e.g., SPC and Cp/CpK).
- Excellent technical program management skills with an emphasis on planning and executing complex projects with cross-functional teams.
