API Management Engineer

Responsibilities
- Work closely with customers during post-sales engagements on their Application Programming Interface (API) programs.
- Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and help customers go into production with quality technical solutions/implementations with on-premises and multi/hybrid cloud-based Apigee solutions.
- Work with geographically distributed Apigee Product/Engineering and Customer Engineering teams to drive innovation and excellence in the field of API Management using Apigee.
- Identify technical dependencies and roadblocks for the customers, and work with cross-functional Google Cloud teams to unblock them.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related software engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience architecting and implementing APIs in Apigee, using a combination of technologies, languages, and standards such as REST, SOAP, GraphQL, OpenAPI, Python, Java, JavaScript, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with API gateway/management, Apigee X and Apigee Hybrid.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Crossplane, Pulumi, etc.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with CI/CD platforms.
- Experience in private, public (Cloud Platforms), and hybrid cloud design considerations and limitations in areas such as virtualization, containerization and container orchestration (like using Kubernetes), serverless, event-driven architecture, global infrastructure, distributed systems and datastores (like Cassandra), load balancing, networking, and security.
- Knowledge of Multi/Hybrid Cloud exposure through Google Distributed Cloud, OpenShift, Rancher, or similar platforms.
