Overview
We're seeking a detail-oriented IT Logistics Specialist to manage hardware logistics and asset operations at our San Francisco office. In this hands-on role, you'll ensure seamless deployment, tracking, and management of IT assets while providing support to Instacart employees across all locations. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology while developing a comprehensive skill set across IT operations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The Instacart IT Department supports all of Instacart with equipment, infrastructure, and technical assistance. Our IT Operations team ensures the support experience is at the highest level—from logistics and inventory management to direct end-user support and AV services.
About the Job
- Coordinate shipping, tracking, and returns of IT equipment across multiple domestic and international locations
- Process equipment requests and maintain accurate records in asset management software (Oomnitza) and ticketing systems (Jira)
- Manage inventory of hardware, peripherals, and IT supplies with meticulous attention to accuracy
- Maintain an organized, secure, and efficient workspace for hardware storage and processing in the San Francisco office
- Collaborate with IT Support, Logistics team, and end-users through Jira to ensure timely equipment deployment and retrieval
- Contribute to and maintain knowledge base documentation for logistics processes and procedures
- Support IT projects and initiatives as needed
About You
Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in IT logistics, or asset management
- Experience with asset management platforms (Oomnitza or similar systems preferred)
- Working knowledge of Mac, Windows, and Chrome operating systems
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities with a sense of urgency
- Self-motivated team player who proactively researches solutions before escalating issues
- Excellent customer service skills and professional communication abilities
- Physical ability to lift and move equipment up to 40 lbs occasionally
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Jamf, Microsoft Intune, Chrome OS management, and Apple Business Manager (ABM)
- Familiarity with FedEx, UPS, and other shipping carrier systems
- Knowledge of international customs regulations and shipping procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to train and guide others
- Process-oriented mindset with focus on continuous improvement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both in-person and remote interactions
- Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration
- Analytical problem-solving approach with ability to prioritize effectively
