Principal Business Development Lead, Healthcare & Life Sciences, AI Solutions
At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we are seeking a Healthcare & Life Sciences (HCLS) Business Development professional to join our Applied AI Solutions (AAIS) Go to Market (GTM) organization. In this role, you will help shape and deliver on our GTM strategy for global HCLS customers and partners. As a business development specialist, you will be at the forefront of helping customers succeed using AWS technologies, identifying business opportunities and driving adoption of our HCLS AI solutions.

In this role, you will work closely with Solutions Architects, Sales Specialists, and Product leadership to develop, accelerate, and sell current and new HCLS products. You will engage directly with customers to understand their business challenges, identify opportunities, and build compelling business cases. By establishing and growing business relationships with customers and internal stakeholders, you will drive revenue growth and customer adoption of AWS solutions in the healthcare and life sciences industry. You will use this knowledge to work with the Product organization to develop market-fit products and influence the product roadmap.

Key job responsibilities
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities for AWS HCLS AI solutions with enterprise customers
- Contribute to account plans developed by the account teams and sales strategies to drive revenue growth and customer adoption
- Partner with Solutions Architects to ensure technical solutions align with customer business needs and objectives
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision makers at customer organizations
- Collaborate with Product teams to provide market insights and customer feedback to influence product roadmap
- Work with Marketing to develop and execute campaigns that generate qualified leads and build pipeline
- Track and report on sales pipeline, forecasts, and business metrics to leadership
- Represent AWS at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings to promote HCLS AI solutions
- Stay current on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities in healthcare and life sciences
- Travel ~30% of the time to support customer engagements

Basic Qualifications
- Experience leading large-scale, technical or engineering programs with a proven record of thought leadership, business case development, realizing customer benefits, and successful program completion
- 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management in healthcare or life sciences
- Extensive background in healthcare IT, clinical systems, payer, provider, life sciences R&D, or closely related domains with demonstrated expertise in multiple areas
- Demonstrated success implementing consultative selling approaches and solution-based sales methodologies across complex accounts or territories
- Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare or life sciences industry challenges, workflows, and regulations with ability to anticipate market trends
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience and track record of exceeding sales goals
- 5+ years of experience with cloud computing technologies, infrastructure architecture, or software development
- Master's or PhD in health sciences, healthcare administration/management, public health, healthcare information management, or associated domains
- Demonstrated success selling cloud computing or technology solutions to healthcare and life sciences organizations at enterprise level
- Deep understanding of AI/ML applications and use cases in healthcare and life sciences with ability to articulate strategic value propositions
- Comprehensive understanding of healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, DICOM) and healthcare regulations (HIPAA, GDPR) with ability to navigate complex compliance requirements
- Experience leading cross-functional technical teams to deliver integrated business and technology solutions for enterprise customers

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
