About The Team And The Role

At eBay, the People Team is responsible for all aspects of the candidate and employee experience across eBay, driving business performance, recruiting, learning and development, compensation, benefits, people experience shared services, and people tools and technologies. We also oversee the continuing evolution of the company's culture!

The People Experience team is the face for managers and employees across the company, acting as experts in APAC  people-related jurisdictional knowledge. We support almost 2,000 employees across 10 countries on processes and queries related to the employee lifecycle!

This role will be primarily aligned to support our India based employees on site in Bengaluru. 

For secondary support, this role may be asked to support broader eBay APAC or  EMEA HR related inquiries. 

What You Will Accomplish

  • Serve as a first point of contact for employees, people leaders and centers of expertise, responding to and resolving HR-related inquiries via Live Chat and the Case Management System in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

  • Provide timely, accurate, and consistent advice on HR policies, procedures, and people practices across multiple EMEA jurisdictions.

  • Maintain and update data to ensure accurate employee records in Workday, including employee files, reporting and compliance requirements.

  • Support the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, contract changes, compensation updates, benefits administration, leaves of absence, transfers, offboarding and employee relations.

  • Deliver end-to-end onboarding support, ensuring candidates clearly understand the onboarding process and receive timely communication and employment documentation in accordance with defined SLAs.

  • Stay informed on changes in employment legislation and internal policies to ensure advice and processes remain compliant.

  • Coach and mentor people leaders by providing guidance on employment policies, HR processes and guidelines.

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with key collaborators including Operations Managers, PBP’s, Legal and external vendors, to deliver an effective, efficient and professional end to end HR service.

  • Find opportunities for process optimization, automation, and standardization within People Experience operations.

  • Participate and/or lead projects and initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and service delivery. 

  • Actively promote and support cultural programs and initiatives that foster engagement and help build and sustain a positive workplace culture.

What You Will Bring

  • Minimum of 6+ years’ experience in a HR Generalist or similar role in India

  • Strong practical knowledge of HR best practice, policies and procedures with a foundational understanding of employment legislation

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience

  • Experience working with HRIS systems (Workday experience strongly preferred)

  • Organization & Drive: Organized, innovative, and passionate about achieving goals with the ability to manage multiple assignments in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and deliver to deadlines.

    Seeing SLAs and live chat in the description is stressing me out, sounds like a glorified support role rather than actual HR.
