About the team and the role:
You will join eBay’s Regulatory Compliance team, which supports the business in meeting regulatory obligations across multiple jurisdictions. The team works closely with Legal, Product, Engineering, Trust & Safety, Operations, Policy, and Customer Support to help ensure eBay remains a trusted marketplace for millions of users.
In this role, you will support the development and day-to-day operation of eBay’s regulatory compliance programme, with a focus on emerging and evolving regulations such as the Digital Services Act, Online Safety Act, accessibility legislation, and Extended Producer Responsibility regimes. The role reports into senior compliance leadership and offers exposure to global stakeholders and complex regulatory topics.
What you will accomplish:
Support the design, build, and maintenance of a regulatory compliance framework across multiple jurisdictions.
Translate regulatory requirements into clear policies, procedures, controls, and operational guidance with support from senior colleagues.
Contribute to the implementation of new and changing regulations through risk assessments, impact assessments, gap analyses, and remediation planning.
Monitor regulatory developments and assess their relevance and impact on eBay’s operations.
Partner with cross-functional teams to identify gaps in existing controls and support proportionate, practical solutions.
Assist with monitoring, testing, and assurance activities, tracking issues and remediation actions to completion.
Help prepare briefings, updates, and materials for governance forums, audits, and regulatory requests.
What you will bring:
1–3 years of experience in regulatory compliance, risk, legal operations, or a related analyst role; experience with platforms or marketplaces is helpful but not required.
Familiarity with regulations such as DSA, OSA, EAA, or EPR, and the ability to interpret requirements and translate them into actionable steps with guidance.
Experience supporting monitoring, testing, or assurance activities and preparing structured reports.
Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail and the ability to organise documentation, trackers, and audit-ready evidence.
Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with datasets; basic knowledge of SQL or other data tools is an advantage.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work constructively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Law, Policy, Risk, Compliance, Information Systems, or a related field; professional certifications are a plus but not required.
