Construction Electrical TPM, DCDE Central Operations, Google Data Centers

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
As a Central Operations Construction Technical Program Manager (TPM), you will be deeply involved in multiple strategic and tactical projects and programs focused on improving our data center planning and execution. You will partner with the Program Management Office (PMO) and Extended Reservation (EXR) teams and directly with Data Center Delivery and Engineering (DCDE) leadership, internal partners, internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure improvement initiatives are supported. You will develop project and programmatic mitigation opportunities, developing presentation and protocol materials for approvals and, once approved, official distribution of materials for project and program application. You will contribute to business initiatives of our delivery Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and communicate with leadership the opportunities, improvements, and learnings of fleet acceleration progress.

We are an upbeat, creative, team-oriented group of engineers committed to building and operating powerful data centers.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Prioritize safety as the primary concern throughout all construction projects and activities.
- Uphold Google’s culture and values in all professional conduct and decision-making.
- Manage project health, risks, and mitigations while reporting delivery progress directly to DCDE Central Operations leadership.
- Partner with EXR engineering to develop communication and rollout strategies for site findings and mitigation awareness.
- Collaborate with ExR, PMO, Data Center Technology and Systems (DCTS), and supply to secure record approvals and drive fleet-wide application of improvements.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in program management.
5 years of experience working with data centers or equipment/environments in engineering and construction.
- 5 years of experience managing process improvement or construction programs in the environment.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- Experience managing and executing projects in an engineering or construction capacity, with the ability to navigate complex cross-functional stakeholder teams.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical infrastructure systems within large facilities.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, including requirements gathering, scheduling, and attention to detail for ensuring follow-through on leadership reporting.
- Ability to travel 50% of the time as needed.
