The Google Labs organization exists to discover and deliver new products that advance Google’s mission. Within the broader Labs team, this role is a Data Science role focused on Growth analysis for Labs Generative Media products. You will be critical to helping the team understand their growth funnel and growth drivers, and will help shape the strategic direction of products through insights and analysis. You will partner closely with engineers, product managers, and cross-functional partners on the Generative Media team to help enable data-driven product improvements across Generative Media products.

Although the focus of the role will be on Generative Media products, you will be a member of the Labs Data Science team. The Labs Data Science team is a cross-function team that supports quality evaluation and growth analysis across the Labs portfolio of products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000-$271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis utilizing relevant tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python). Provide analytical thought leadership through proactive and strategic contributions.
  • Work with large, complex data sets. Solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems, applying advanced analytical methods as needed. Conduct end-to-end analysis that includes data gathering and requirements specification, processing, analysis, ongoing deliverables, and presentations.
  • Build and prototype analysis pipelines iteratively to provide insights at scale. Develop comprehensive understanding of Google data structures and metrics, advocating for changes where needed for both products development and business activity.
  • Interact cross-functionally with a wide variety of people and teams. Work closely with engineers to identify opportunities for, design, and assess improvements to Google products.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 10 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, performing statistical analysis, and coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL) (or 8 years work experience including a Master's degree).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 12 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, performing statistical analysis, and coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
