We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000-$349,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Build intuition for the AIM and the Ads product. Leverage your AI expertise and data-backed insights to guide the product direction as well as formulate a technical strategy and roadmap.
  • Drive fast-moving iterative execution while optimizing for both learning and impact. Formulate designs that help achieve trade-offs across cost, latency, quality, etc.
  • Work with cross-functional teams across Ads, Search, GDM, and Google Research to align the system and technical approaches towards the overall mission and product.
  • Explore emerging technologies and propose techniques.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of industry trends, the AIM product roadmap, and the evolving technical landscape.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 7 years of experience leading technical project strategy, ML design, and working with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
  • 5 years of experience with one or more of the following: Speech/audio (e.g., technology duplicating and responding to the human voice), reinforcement learning (e.g., sequential decision making), ML infrastructure, or specialization in another ML field.
  • 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience as an ML/AI engineer.
  • Experience building AI-powered user-visible features.
  • Experience with various AI-related tools, frameworks, and platforms.
