Senior Staff Software Engineer, Google Cloud Security

As an overall UTL of Cloud-delivered, AI-driven Security Services that power Chrome Enterprise Premium Security, you will own the overall technical vision and strategy of these critical security services. These security services provide malware and phishing protection, DLP, Zero Trust Access, Telemetry services and browser-first threat detection and response with Google SecOps.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000-$349,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Own the broader technical vision and strategy of Cloud Engineering Productivity (CEP) and core security services that power CEP Security, including alignment with Chrome Engineering and Workspace product areas.
- Own the technical vision and strategy for browser-first detection and response working closely with Google SecOps.
- Enable a strong engineering and technical excellence culture including reliability and operational health.
- Bring an AI-first mindset to engineering and technical architecture, strategy, and execution.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience programming in C++.
- 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
