Cluster Security Manager, Northern Europe (English, Sweden)
As the Cluster Security Manager, Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS), you will help lead Google’s GSRS for our operations in the Northern Europe region. You will report to the security manager for Continental Europe and work with internal and external partners to maintain and enhance the security and safety of Google. You will coordinate physical security (security services, access control and CCTV systems, site surveys), investigations, risk/threat assessments, protective services, travel safety and environmental health and safety (EHS) programs. You may also supervise employees and contractors performing specific security and safety objectives and monitor vendor performance and expenses.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the security strategy for Stockholm as the hub for the Nordics and wider Northern Europe cluster region. Move beyond tactical fire-fighting to proactive risk management, anticipating future business needs and potential threats in the region.
- Oversee the daily security operations in Stockholm, providing dedicated support to the Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) team within the EMEA region. This role necessitates frequent travel within the Nordics and the wider Northern Europe region.
- Own the holistic performance of security operations across the cluster and management of security vendor partners .
- Act as the primary security advisor to local and regional leadership (site- and county leads, real estate and workplace services (REWS), HR, legal, Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP). Translate security risks into business-relevant insights that enable leadership decision-making.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience defining and implementing security and resilience programs and strategies.
- 8 years of experience controlling security risks, and developing methods to reduce or mitigate these threats.
- 5 years of experience in project management, including identifying problems, developing recommendations, and implementing solutions.
- Ability to communicate in Swedish and English fluently to support client relationship management in this region.
Preferred qualifications:
- Certifications with certified protection professional (CPP), physical security professional (PSP), or equivalent.
- Experience briefing executive-level stakeholders with, an bility to influence without authority and navigate structured organizations.
- Experience working in the technology sector or changing creative multinational environment.
- Experience with crisis management, risk management and business continuity planning.
- Understanding of the Northern Europe and Nordic security landscape, local laws, and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
