As the Cluster Security Manager Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), Global Security & Resilience Services (GSRS) - Sydney, you will help lead Google’s GSRS for our operations in the Australasia region. You will report to the Regional Security Director (East Asia & Australasia) and work with internal and external partners to maintain and enhance the security and safety of Google. You will coordinate physical security (security services, access control and CCTV systems, site surveys), investigations, risk/threat assessments, protective services, travel safety and environmental health and safety (EHS) programs. You will also supervise employees and contractors performing specific security and safety objectives and monitor vendor performance and expenses.

Responsibilities

  • Provide regional leadership for Google's ANZ physical security program, overseeing vendor delivery, operational readiness, and risk mitigation.
  • Assist in implementing corporate security standards, policies and practices, lead the day-to-day management of vendors delivering security, training, protective services, and risk assessments.
  • Partner with Real Estate & Workplace Services (REWS) and other business units to identify security deficiencies, and develop customised policies and procedures to gain compliance with regulations.
  • Perform data analysis and bench marking to support risk assessments and threat identification, develop and present travel briefings on crime and health risks for specified regions.
  • Manage Google security personnel and vendor staff to respond to emergencies, support planned and unplanned operations, and support events.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience managing security operations.
  • Experience working with vendors and managing contracted security personnel.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with security technologies including CCTV, Access Control, and Incident Management Systems.
  • Experience in managing security operations and security personnel along with delivering customer-oriented security programs.
  • Experience conducting investigations including criminal, human resources, and safety incidents.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information along with excellent judgement, discretion, diplomacy and ethical standards.
  • Active NV1 security clearance, but not essential.
