Program Manager, Regional Data Center Delivery
A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.
The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical and HVAC systems in the world. We are an upbeat, creative, team-oriented group of engineers committed to building and operating powerful data centers.
Responsibilities
- Lead program teams across cross-functional organizations, including energy and land acquisitions and development, networking, construction, and supply chain to ensure cohesive delivery against regional goals.
- Design and execute comprehensive communication plans to provide leadership with visibility into portfolio health, critical risks, and necessary escalations.
- Maintain a holistic view of the program life-cycle to identify where delay in one workstream (e.g., land acquisition) will impact downstream delivery (e.g., shell construction).
- Monitor global and regional throughput constraints such as construction capacity or long-lead equipment availability to identify potential delays before they impact the critical path.
- Manage the end-to-end requirements for emerging markets where lead times and regulatory environments lack established precedents.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in program management or planning for data center infrastructure development, or a similar industry.
- Experience with data centers or other infrastructure in the areas of supply planning, site development, construction, design, or engineering.
- Experience in stakeholder and communication management in a cross-functional leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
- 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- Experience using data to identify trends, develop performance metrics, and establish early-warning indicators for program health.
- Experience developing operational frameworks and governance structures in fluid environments.
- Knowledge of data center infrastructure components (Power, Cooling, Shell/Core development) and the end-to-end development life-cycle from site selection to delivery.
