Senior System Power Engineer, Google Pixel
The Pixel System Architecture team is responsible for defining the next-gen Systems for Pixel devices from concept to volume production to post deployment.
In this role, you will be part of the Battery Life Modeling team in the Pixel System Architecture team and will contribute to the mission of empowering Pixel users with exceptional battery life experiences. You will play a critical role in shaping the next generation of mobile devices by pushing boundaries on hardware/software optimization and modeling user/app behavior across existing and new applications.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Project system level power consumption for Pixel devices by modeling use cases and subsystems.
- Analyze power consumption anomalies to root cause issues by running use cases on real devices and platform boards.
- Collect logs and relevant data and drive analysis and present data driven conclusions to executive leaders.
- Work with cross-functional hardware, software, and systems teams to perform power/performance trade-off analysis and optimizations for a wide variety of use-cases. Propose and drive implementation of innovative power optimization features across hardware and software.
- Participate in power and performance benchmarking of hardware (e.g., SoC, CPU, GPU, PMICs, and more), software (e.g., firmware, kernel, Android/iOS, and more), and applications (e.g., multimedia, generative AI, and more) across internal and external platforms.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience with working in system or SoC level power estimation, modeling and use case analysis, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.
- Experience with one or more mobile phone hardware subsystems, such as applications processor, cellular modem, graphics, multimedia, display, memory, Wi-Fi.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Experience with mobile phone workloads in one or more areas such as multimedia processing, camera pipeline, render and display processing, cellular modem/Wi-Fi processing.
- Experience with power measurement tools such as Monsoon, digital multimeter, as well as experience with Android tools such as adb, Systrace, Git.
- Experience working with hardware prototypes to test and root cause issues.
- Experience with working in modeling and automation using Python and SQL.
