System Design Engineer, ChromeOS
Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. As a System Design Engineer, you will take a holistic approach to product development, ensuring all components from the hardware and operating system to the software and development infrastructure work together seamlessly.

Responsibilities
- Design and build the systems, tools, and automated processes that our engineers and partners rely on for the entire device life-cycle, including bring-up, configuration, and management.
- Develop and drive technical road-map and goals to ensure the expansion of the ChromeOS and Aluminum device ecosystem.
- Serve as a technical liaison between internal teams (e.g., Hardware, OS, Software) and external partners (e.g., OEMs) to deliver well-integrated product designs that meet both technical requirements and partner demands.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in development, testing and deployment of consumer electronics or embedded systems.
- Experience with Linux development environments and Git or Gerrit.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience developing low-level firmware, Linux kernel device drivers, and Board Support Package (BSPs) within open-source projects.
- Knowledge of system architecture and system design.
