As a member of the Databricks Field Engineering organization, the Professional Services Manager role is a leadership position responsible for building and driving a world class delivery team to accelerate Databricks Lakehouse adoption with a focus on customer business outcomes. Our Professional Services leaders drive our most strategic customer implementations in close partnership with their cross-functional peers in the Databricks go-to-market organization. As a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in the Data and AI industry, you will position, scope, and deliver end-to-end implementations working directly with our customers and alongside our Databricks partner ecosystem. You will hire, grow and motivate a team of world-class architects who are direct billable resources working hands-on in the customer environment, driving massively scalable production implementations on the Databricks Lakehouse platform.
The impact you will have:
- Build a world-class technical professional service delivery team of Resident Solution Architects (RSAs) and Consultants.
- Drive end-to-end customer production implementations with a diverse set of resources including Databricks professional services, partners and off-shore resources.
- Partner with account executives and professional services engagement managers to meet business targets and Databricks platform consumption
- Actively scope and sell complex services engagements during the pre-sale process in partnership with account executives and engagement managers
- Act as a thought-leader and escalation point overseeing complex customer implementations
- Analyze and improve operational processes to drive efficiency of the professional services practice and Databricks field engineering organization.
- Be a dedicated people leader including setting vision, strategy and execution of your team’s goals while also building a long term career path for your team, in partnership with your direct manager in professional services.
- Partner across field engineering organization to drive strategic company initiatives such as Migrations, Databricks Product feedback, IP and Tooling Developments.
- Continue to grow your own leadership skills and career impact consistent with the databricks culture principles and in close partnership with your direct manager.
What we look for:
- 3+ years of management experience as a managing consultant/delivery teams or pre-sale/ post-sale technical field teams.
- Minimum 5 years individual contributor experience as a hands-on technical solutions architect that will allow you to act in a supportive manager capacity with technical architects that report to you.
- Experience driving software platform adoption in Fortune 500 organizations
- Experience scoping and selling complex services engagements during the pre-sale process in partnership with sales and field organizations.
- Organized and analytical, adept at working in a fast-paced team environment.
- Solid understanding of Databricks products, big data ecosystem, and direct competitors.
Up to 30% of travel required.

The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents the expected base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks anticipated utilizing the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
